The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Luke 10:2

About Harvest Honduras

Child Health Honduras

Our mission

To use evidence-based medicine to provide hope and healing to God's children in low-resource areas of Latin America while also offering an avenue for sharing the gospel of Christ to the spiritually unreached.

Our vision

For every person to have access to a united, sustainable, and gospel-promoting Healthcare Ministries.

SCHOOL CHECK-UPS

Schools Missions Honduras

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare, we prioritize well-child check-ups to ensure each child's growth and development stays on track. Twice a year, we serve around 250 children from communities such as Buena Vista, Pacayal, and Zaragoza. During these check-ups, we offer vision and dental screenings, growth assessments, and health education tailored to each child's needs. Our recent initiatives led to identifying and addressing vision and dental issues in 40% of the children screened! These efforts not only improve individual health but also raise awareness in the community about the importance of regular check-ups.

Together, we are building a healthier future for our children!

NGO/ HEALTH INITIATIVE PARTNERSHIPS

Rural Medical Missions

Harvest Health Missions partners with organizations that are actively discipling and deeply rooted in their communities to provide sustainable healthcare services. Our goal is to serve as a resource that these organizations can utilize to reach and disciple more people.

We currently partner with five organizations in Honduras: Clinica Betania, Hospital Yojoa, Ver

International, MAG / Rus Rus Hospital, and Growing Love. As staffing and resources allow, we hope to expand further.

We support and serve these organizations through the following initiatives:

Short-Term Medical Teams:

We host short-term medical teams that provide documented care, enabling continuity of treatment by subsequent teams. This promotes cohesive follow-up and ongoing care for patients with chronic diseases in their communities.

Community Health Training:

We equip community members with essential healthcare skills, empowering them to care for one another. This fosters sustainable change that is not dependent on the continued presence of missionaries.

Biannual Child Wellness Checks:

We perform biannual health screenings for over 250 children across three schools. These checkups assess general health, dental, and vision needs. Working alongside our partner organizations, we aim to intervene early—before these issues negatively affect the children’s well- being or education.

Hospital Partnerships:

We partner with two hospitals to assist in the development of medical services, healthcare policies, and the implementation of electronic medical records. We also support these institutions in organizing and hosting short-term mission teams.

Internship Program

Our internship program offers pre-medical students and missionary-minded

individuals hands-on experience and insight into the life of a medical missionary. Interns receive medical training, follow a devotional curriculum, and have the opportunity to take Spanish language classes.

the mission house

The Mission House serves as a sanctuary for those who are deeply involved in the mission work of Harvest Honduras. In the demanding, hands-on environment of community service, whether it’s through providing aid, education, or ministry, those who are on the frontlines of the work can quickly become fatigued, both physically and spiritually. The Mission House is designed to be a refuge—a place where missionaries, volunteers, and community members can step away from the daily grind, slow down, and recharge.

This space is not just a place to rest, but also a place to reflect, pray, and reconnect with their core mission. The importance of prayer and reflection is deeply woven into the fabric of the work being done in the community. Here, individuals can find a moment of stillness to realign their hearts, gain perspective, and renew their sense of purpose, allowing them to return to their service with restored energy and clarity.

The Mission House doesn’t only offer rest in the physical sense; it’s also a space for emotional and spiritual healing. The rhythm of life in the Mission House is intentionally designed to facilitate both personal solitude and communal connection. Time is set aside for individual quiet reflection and prayer, while also fostering moments of shared fellowship where stories, experiences, and insights from the community work are exchanged. This helps to nurture a strong sense of unity among those involved, reinforcing that the mission is a collective effort, and reminding everyone of the deeper purpose that binds them together.

Whether through a quiet moment alone or a communal meal shared with others who understand the challenges and rewards of mission work, the Mission House becomes a place where individuals are renewed in their faith and energized for the next phase of their work. It’s where they can refuel spiritually, emotionally, and physically to ensure they can continue serving others in the best way possible.

By being rooted in prayer, reflection, rest, and community, The Mission House plays an essential role in ensuring that Harvest Honduras can continue to serve the local community effectively and with compassion. It reminds those involved that to serve others well, they must also care for themselves—body, mind, and spirit.
